The Vision Train is a global creative community and evolving co-creative project initiated by the visionary artist Amanda Sage.

First revealed in 2011 as a response to a world in fragmentation, the Vision Train emerged as both a symbol and a proposal — a living vessel for reconnection. At a time when social, ecological, and psychological systems were generating increasing separation, it appeared as a way forward: a train not of extraction, but of regeneration. A journey back along the tracks — reweaving relationships between people, place, and purpose, and seeding new possibilities for culture to emerge.

The name “Vision Train” came into form in 2017 during a five-week painting course, Vision Training, taught in Vienna, Austria at the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art. A painting created during that time was named Vision Train through the insight of artist and collaborator Joe Bob Merritt — giving language to what had already been unfolding. That same year, the Vision Train Drawing Project emerged through a 4th grade classroom in South Central Los Angeles, expanding the vision into a shared, accessible creative experience.

In 2020, the Vision Train fully “left the station” with the launch of the Non-Stop Vision Train Global Art Jam — a 24/7 online studio where creativity, connection, and collaboration unfold in real time.

  • Today, Vision Train is both a community and a connective field — a space where people gather to create, learn, share, and support one another. Some come to make art. Some to be inspired. Others contribute as patrons, collaborators, and cultural allies. All are part of the journey.

    While rooted in a continuous online creative space, Vision Train extends into the world through exhibitions, workshops, gatherings, and collaborative projects across the globe. It serves as connective tissue — linking people, ideas, and opportunities into a living ecosystem of visionary culture.

  • The “train” is both symbol and invitation —
    each of us a car, carrying our gifts, tools, and imagination.
    When we connect, we become a movement.

    And it is not just a metaphor.

    The Vision Train is real — unfolding now through an iterative process of finding one another, linking our train cars, and giving form to what we are here to build. Through our creations, collaborations, and shared practice, we are actively shaping the future we wish to live in.

A physical train will emerge from this process —
an educational and creative vessel moving across lands, connecting communities and seeding regenerative culture.

When will it depart?
We don’t know exactly.

But it is soon.

And everything we are building now is laying the tracks.
