Gathering Momentum Together

Last week we explored Money & Value.

Over the course of a week full of trips, conversations, and shared inquiry, we looked deeply at the many ways value shows up in our lives. Together we shared stories about the values that guide our creative process and the ways we value our time, our bodies, our creations, and one another as a global community of artists.

Many of us found ourselves taking personal inventory in one way or another. In sharing that process openly, we also began discovering new ways of sharingour work—ways that felt more aligned with who we are, what we care about, and the communities we're helping to cultivate.

Perhaps that's one of the quiet gifts of creative practice.

What we appreciate naturally grows in value. What we value gathers momentum.

As we continue this journey together, we're discovering what becomes possible when we welcome wealth as well-being and richness as wholeness—expanding our understanding of abundance beyond money alone while leaving room for money itself to become more intentional, playful, and even sacred.

Every creative act begins long before the finished work appears. We prepare a space. We gather what we need. We follow a series of intentions that eventually lead us to the moment of creation. We meet the flow and arrive, ready to create.

This week, our attention turns to what happens when we continue.

How things begin to move. How support circulates.
How generosity flows.

How healthy ecosystems sustain themselves through Reciprocity & Exchange.

Adding to the excitement:

Every dollar spent in support of the Vision Train brings us closer to our shared goal of $33,333 to keep creativity in motion.

Every Friday during Gathering Momentum, we’re coming together live to share campaign updates, amplify community voices, and open a new weekly theme through The Momentum Report.

Visit the Vision Train Station on Youtube to catch up with past Momentum Reports and other Vision Train Livestreams here.

Gathering Momentum continues through August 28, with ample opportunities to invite new crew aboard.

As we move into a week of Reciprocity & Exchange...

This week especially, my mind keeps wandering to the skies. Whether it's the weather or the latest cosmic alignments, I keep remembering what a phenomenal cosmos we live in and the beautiful ways the natural world is always moving.

Rotating planets orbiting vibrating and radiant stars, our own gracing the horizon each day. Every day a new sunrise, hours of cloudscapes dancing in sunlight. Birds in flight and butterflies, until the rain comes and they all find shelter while the green earth drinks. Each sunset giving way to countless more shining stars visible in our night sky. What is a shooting star? From our place in one of many, whole galaxies dance, revolving, spiraling, full of darkness and light, fully alive.

Nothing exists in isolation. Everything participates in relationship.

What if support moved through communities in the same ways, arriving naturally?

Sometimes as encouragement. Sometimes as an introduction. Sometimes as a shared meal, a conversation, an unexpected opportunity, a place to stay, a teacher appearing at just the right moment, someone believing in us before we know how to believe in ourselves.

Money can absolutely be part of that circulation.

In fact, I've noticed one of our greatest collective blind spots isn't money itself, but often the stories we've inherited about it. Many of us carry fears that generosity will leave us with less. That receiving somehow diminishes us. That asking for support means we've failed.

Yet healthy ecosystems don't flourish because every part holds tightly to what it has.

They flourish because nourishment continues to move. Reciprocity and exchange in nature can be subtle. What do we receive that we rarely acknowledge? Whose labor, creativity, wisdom, hospitality, and care quietly make our own work possible? How many invisible exchanges have shaped the person we are becoming?

Even visionary communities can sometimes become so focused on creating the future that we forget to appreciate what is already here, and art is often treated as a luxury rather than one of the ways we remember who we are. Support is mistaken for dependency instead of relationship.

This is one clear place where reciprocity can take root. Before we ask ourselves what we have to give, what if we take time to remember and give thanks for how much has already been given.

And from that place, allowing support to continue its journey through us.

We'll see you aboard soon.

In thankfulness night and day,
