As the Seasons Change

Vision Train|

Solstice is right around the corner, a biannual celebration that reminds us not only of our global connection, but also of the polarity woven throughout life. While those of us in the global north are feeling the heat and vitality of summer's arrival, our friends in the global south are welcoming longer nights, cooler weather, and a season of reflection, sometimes even dormancy.Different seasons. Different invitations.Yet both are part of the same cycle.

There is something beautiful about this moment of transition. Solstice is not simply a celebration of light or darkness, but a passing of the baton between them. In the North, the longest day of the year quietly marks the return of longer nights. In the South, the longest night begins the gradual return of the sun. Each hemisphere receives what the other is releasing, reminding us that life's cycles are not static but constantly in motion.

In light of this coming global alignment, I find myself reflecting on the relationship between trust and timing. While the old adage is often true that timing is everything, it is also true that seeds only grow when planted. No amount of planning, imagining, or waiting for perfect conditions can substitute for that first act of participation. The same is often true of creative projects, relationships, collaborations, and communities.

As we close out this first season in our year of CONNECTION together, I am reminded that cultivation is the practice we are always learning aboard the Vision Train. It asks us to harmonize trust and timing, creating the conditions for growth and flourishing without needing to control the outcome.

Each time we gather, new ideas are shared, new relationships are formed, and new possibilities begin to take root. Some emerge quickly. Others have spent months or years quietly developing beneath the surface.

Together, they form a growing garden of stories within our ecosystem that reveal what becomes possible when creativity is supported by community and given the time and care it needs to grow.

Wherever you are in the world, and whatever season you find yourself moving through, we'd love to hear from you.

This Weekend

Three days. 90+ presenters. Regenerative design. Visionary culture. Future-building.

Vision Train and Design Science Studio are teaming up again for another epic journey to regen.era

This Friday, June 19th, marks the re-emergence of regen·era: a floating city designed to be the home and heART of the Regenaissance and a scaffold for thousands of projects and ideas throughout the decade ahead for a future that is regenerative, equitable and just.

The arrival of the city is celebrated with a summit called regen·era rising: a confluence of immersive experiences, celebrations, talks, workshops, art and surprises - each showcasing the important, powerful and collaborative ways
design, science and story collide.

The Design Science Studio is an educational and cultural incubator that empowers creators to imagine and catalyze regenerative futures. As part of the story-universe of regen·era we will be helping co-create and propel the transition to a world that works for ALL of Life.

Riders of The Train are often no strangers to feeling misunderstood or out of place in a noisy world. Sometimes, through no fault of our own, it takes years of composting before we are finally able to bloom where we are planted.

For Kyra Joy, something was beginning to stir, deep in the rich soil, a seed waiting to be watered.

What began to manifest as a need for expression in the midst of uncertainty and resistance eventually led Kyra to the art class that changed everything. Creativity became a way to process trauma, reconnect with herself, and find a voice when words were not always available. Art unlocked a new language and a fierce commitment to her own creative vision. It didn't take long before something cracked open. The seed sprouted and began to grow.

Many of us have discovered what author and fellow artist Stephen King says to be true: half the game is "making sure the muse knows where you're going to be every day." As Kyra continued showing up for her practice, opportunities began emerging organically. She immersed herself in visionary culture. When she found her way aboard the Vision Train, last year Kyra committed herself to a Daily Visions practice that resulted in 298 unique works in just 365 days. Today she shares that same spirit of cultivation through her Daily Vision Deep Dives and Focused Flow trips, modeling accountability and helping others strengthen their own creative practice.

These practices would soon carry her far beyond the familiar.

Facing a new wave of uncertainty following the 2025 U.S. presidential election, Kyra chose movement over fear. Together with her partner and fellow artist Ish, in November she embarked on an ongoing art pilgrimage that began in Spain and Portugal before carrying them across Latin America. Along the way, they have continued learning through art, community and place, including studying with Luis Tamani in Peru.
The journey itself builds on years of artistic study with mentors including Laurence Caruana, Amanda Sage, Stefan Lucas Allen, Alex Grey, and Allyson Grey.
Rather than following a fixed itinerary, Kyra and Ish are allowing intuition, invitations, relationships, and creativity to shape the path ahead.

Most recently, that journey has brought them to Cusco, Peru.

Originally hoping to visit Machu Picchu, plans changed, as they so often do. With a few unexpected days to explore the city, they found themselves at La Morena y Punto, a restaurant owned and operated by one remarkable woman in the San Blas neighborhood of Cusco dedicated to Afro-Peruvian culture, music, and cuisine. While working on their Daily Visions practice, a conversation began with the owner.

Sometimes recognition reaches beyond language barriers. Kyra may not be fluent in Spanish, but in this story connection found a way.

Before long, she had been invited to create a pair of murals framing the entrance to the restaurant.

Reflecting on the experience, Kyra shared: "I have learned so much about festejo and criollo and this history. So far we've explored Pucallpa, Iquitos, Lima, and Cusco. We have hopes to keep traveling and exploring ourselves and the world simultaneously, but we're not sure where life will take us next."

It's been a gift witnessing Kyra's journey unfold with such openness to the unexpected. Watching her say yes to opportunity after opportunity reminds me that creativity is not always about having a plan. Sometimes it is about showing up fully, tending what matters, and being present enough to recognize the invitation when it arrives.

Kyra's creative journey continues to unfold both on and off the Train. We're excited to celebrate the launch of her new YouTube channel, where she has already shared over a dozen fun and inspiring shorts from her adventures and creative process.

Like this one! Travel back in time to 2024—it'll only take a minute—and join Kyra and a group of live painters at Art in the Garden in Inwood, NYC.

Watch the video, subscribe to the channel, and follow along as the journey continues.

What's Gaining Momentum?

As Vision Train continues to grow, so does the ecosystem of relationships, programs, technologies, and creative experiments that support our global community.

In the coming weeks we'll be sharing more about Critical Mass: Gathering Momentum, a community-powered initiative focused on strengthening the infrastructure that helps keep the Train moving while expanding opportunities for participation, collaboration, and support.

If you'd like to learn more about Critical Mass, upcoming events, sponsorship opportunities, or ways to get involved, we invite you to explore.

As for what comes next?

We'll discover that together on the other side of Solstice.

For now, maybe the question is not what comes next, but what is asking to be cultivated.

See You On The Train!
